Summer/Fall Issue, 2020

Hello, I am Sara Throener and as of August 20, 2020 I am the President of the NAGRA Board. Our former president, Joe Osterloh, left his employment with an active member of NAGRA and as such had to give up his seat on the NAGRA Board.

I have served as the Vice President of the NAGRA Board since June of 2019 and served as the Midwest Regional Director from July 2017 to June of 2019.

I work for the Iowa Department of Inspections & Appeals (DIA) as their Legislative Liaison and Executive Assistant to the Director. In Iowa the DIA oversees all gaming in the state with the exception of the Lottery. I have been with the DIA for 13 years and in that time gaming in Iowa has changed quite a bit. NAGRA has been a great resource to find out what other jurisdictions were doing and keep up with ever changing technology.

I want to thank the rest of the NAGRA Board for stepping up and leading during an unprecedented time. NAGRA had to cancel the 2020 conference but we are already working on the 2021 conference that will be in Louisville, KY.

I am excited to see what the next year holds for NAGRA! I hope to connect with you through one of the webinars, interest group calls or virtual meet ups that NAGRA is doing.

Sincerely,

Sara ThroenerNAGRA President
